Hi,

Newbie here.

We manufacture products in Stainless Steel.

We either manufacture in polished or brushed stainless steel, but it is only generally brushed or polished on one side only. The other side is called dull polish - it looks slightly lighter than pencil lead and is shiny but not massively reflective.

Therefore I need to somehow create a material which is brushed or polished on one side and dull on the other side.

It is an expensive process polishing both sides specially when it ends up as the inside of our product with no cosmetic values.

Does anyone know how I can easily achieve the above?

Thanks,

CHRIS

Chris,

No one material will do that for you.  You'll need 2.  You'll have to draw your part in 3D CAD with one color on the faces that are brushed, and a different color on faces that are polished.
Then inside KS you'll be able to assign individual materials to each side of your sheetmetal.

When you are creating your 3D model you have the ability to detach faces such as the surfaces you need to have another material assigned. You don't want to move these detached faces only isolate them so you can assign a different material to them.
