While I appreciate security as much as the next person, I am baffled. In my 35 years in computer tech and using the internet... before it was called the internet, I have officially had the MOST ridiculous experience getting a forum account. I won't get into the hoop jumping I had to go through. I had mistyped my email upon registering and the
absurd hoop jumping ensued. I proffer that you may have more forum members if the security measures were not so robust. This is a software forum not a cloud storing the secrets of the universe. At least I don't think that's what Luxion is doing. As an aside, the forum software also indicates that I have mistyped the word mistyped (now used 4 times). How's that for irony? The spellchecker misspells mistyped.

I have not discounted the fact that I might have been having a mini stroke while engaging in the registering process. In that case, never mind. Forget I mentioned it.

Is there a character limit for posts? I have repeatedly tried to modify my original post but it remains truncated. Ithen removed the thread I started and the reposted it again. I cut and pasted the original text again. The brand new text is also truncated. I sent an email to myself where I pasted the same text. It returned to me complete. Am I in the twilight zone? LOL

That is odd, as I and most have never had any problems posting to the Forum.  Do be careful not to use any special characters like the keyboard symbols for "and" and "star" and the like, as they will trash the post, which may be the issue you are having with truncation.  Let's see what others pipe in with-

also the little O shaped degree symbol is a msg killer  ;)

Other than that, I can only say that I don't remember the forum sign up procedure .. but I know that even now from time to time we get spam here, so should we say it's not even strikt enough ?

KeyShot

We did tighten the registration and first post process significantly last year after a severe spam attack. If it is too restrictive then we can look into making it less difficult to register. We still see a little spam from time to time, and I would hate to open up the flood gates to more spam.

Hello monkeyboy

Anyway, at least you seem to have got it sorted

And by the way, the wry humour interwoven in your post was not lost on me...

Yes, I was probably just whining whilst in the midst of my mini-stroke. I am aware of the character conventions in posting and as a rule I generally avoid those infringements anyway. All is well... except for the fact that I tried to post in the "Amazing Shots" forum to no avail. I followed all the parameters (file size total, number of images). I tried four times. I tried four different configurations of uploaded files. It appeared to be uploading my files, as indicated by my hd activity. It eventually came back (about 2 minutes later) with a clean slate and waiting for me to write a post. Perhaps the system did not like the new file format I was trying to upload. It's called JPEG. It's all the rage with the kiddies. At, this point I have to conclude it's on my end. Anyhoo, at least I am on the forum. I will retry my posted images again today. Please give a look . I still have no clue as to the truncation of the cut and paste post and I have a slight drool and lisp from my mini-stroke. Other than that we are golden. Thanks for the supportive replies. Following in RED (if it let's me highlight in RED) is the last half of my truncated post. It wasn't a 100 percent negative rant.

In retrospect, I can see the last post in a different light. DOS attacks and SPAM are not fun. I blame myself.

That being said, I am a big fan of your code. I find it to be a very useful tool. The coders have done a bang-up job on this amazing software. The industry has definitely taken notice and Keyshot has plenty of buzz. I suspect it is being used in areas that it was not originally conceived for. I will upload some images of little projects I am currently amusing myself using Keyshot. Again, some amazingly useful software. Perhaps your crack programming staff could be utilized to write a new front end to your forum registration.

Kind Regards,

M.B.

UPDATE DOH ! The attached image is part of the text I tried to cut and paste. I didn't really think about offending characters as I just cut and pasted text I grabbed off the site. It's seems to be at the bottom of every page. Everything past that text was truncated. You guys were correct.
