I can crash keyshot within 2 seconds - edit a texture, move the (for eg) scale slider left, then right, and thats it, KS stops working. (on both the 4.2.35 version, and the one previous)

I cleared all the Windows event logs, crashed the program, and here are the log events. Hopefully they are of use.

I cannot reproduce this. Do you mind sharing your .ksp file? go to file > save package and send the .ksp to rex@luxion.com If it's larger than 20mb send via keyshot.com/wetransfer.

Thank you

I'm using the demo version, the 'save package' option is greyed out.

Best I can do is say it goes from this (clicky)

To this (not that it helps at all)

I've done some more experimenting, and it seems to be only the 'scale' slider that crashes the program.

Its not limited to one scene, but every scene or object I've loaded into keyshot. Interestingly, the more complex the scene, the quicker it will crash. The model shown (536k tri's) can crash the prog simply by moving the slider left, then rapidly right. I tried to crash it with a simple ring model (7k), and that took 7-10 rapid movements left/right.

Edit,

Is it possible that it is a problem with the visual C++ installed on my computer? I've noticed several programs that I've tried to install recently (HDR Expose3 jumps to mind) that either failed to install, or installed but would not run, with the error

"Visual C++ Runtime Error
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way........ "

Edit 2

I think I may have solved the problem.

I uninstalled all the many different C++ redistributables (at least 16 different packages and updates), and installed clean 2008-2013 packages from MS.

Touch wood, it hasn't crashed  yet :)
