Color vs texture color

I do NOT have the 'brushed.jpg' file anywhere is there a place I can get it?  I have radial brushed but not just the brushed. 

I also did a CAD model of the mouse used in the exercise and uploaded it to gradcad in case anyone wants to dabble.....

And I don't understand this....WHEN you decide on a color you can then change the COLOR....AND you can select TEXTURE and AGAIN change COLOR.....what is the difference b/w the first color and the color inside the texture tab?

I think you could have make it more lighter that will be looking very good.
