KS6 fails to import SolidWorks assembly that KS5 loads in 15-20 seconds

Hi guys.
The title kinda says it all.

I haven't managed to import any native SolidWork files into KeyShot 6. When trying to it just shows that it is loading something until the computer runs out of memory and KS6 crashes. When importing the same files to KS5 it happens in 15-20 seconds with no problems.

I've used a workaround by importing into KS5, saving the scene, open KS6 and open the saved bip from KS5. It works, but would be more convenient if I could import directly to KS6.

Let me know if you need more information. It happens on both the windows (7) and OSX version of KS5 and KS6.

Best,
Esben

There was a change in the library we used that caused the tessellation to increase significantly for solidworks models. There are two workarounds. Decrease the tessellation precision or use the mesh only importer.

On 6.1.39,  I used the "normal" (mesh?) importer and no problem on an 86,694,903 assembly.

Okay, great. What is this 'mesh only importer'? Can't seem to find it.

Cool. Good to hear, Bill... but what is the "normal" importer? The one that pops up when I've selected the SW file? That's the one I've tried to use.

So, is there a difference between direct import swx files into ks and the plugin ?

Speedster

Here is how I've been setting up SolidWorks imports into KeyShot 6.1.39 beta, both as DandD and plugin.  Esben, this is what I meant by "normal".

It is the checkbox 'Cached Geometry' which will read the mesh information directly from SolidWorks (we should provide a little more information to make this more obvious).
