I like the contrast of the third image, but the softness of the second. So something between 2 and 3 would be a good result. But that's just IMHO.

Interesting. I enjoyed trying the HDRI detail trick in the 3rd image and it did bring out the detail. I didn't like the graininess though. I felt like the 1st image appears the most realistic. The second image felt more interesting but slightly less realistic.
