When exiting search mode, selected items are de-selected

When I search for models, and then select more than one model, expected functionality is that exiting the search will retain the selection, so I can work with those models in the context of the rest of the scene.

This could also enable the ability to do multiple searches and add selections (ctrl-click) as you go, which could be very helpful.
