Label disappears when material is changed

Hello,

I have a model on which I've applied a material and a label. If I change the material, the label disappears and I have to reapply it again. Is there a way to have the label stay on the model even if you change the material ? I've included an example below.

While dragging the new material onto the object, hold down the ALT key to keep textures and the CTRL/CMD key to keep labels.

You can see the notification at the top of the realtime window as well.
