Hi all,

  • I created animation #1.
I want to create a 2nd 3D animation using a copy #1, but change the starting position of the object.

I moved the object into position, then clicked Play (within KeyShot), but the object bounces back to initial position of Anim #1.

How can I adjust the position of the object and make it the starting position in the anim?  Any way to anchor it somehow?

Thank you very much.

I wouldn't go about it that way. You don't specify, but I assume you're doing part animations, not camera animations?

In KeyShot, you animate geometry... not create an animation, and then link it to geometry. So, if you duplicate the geometry, you're going to get weird issues with the animation.

Here's what I recommend:

1. Create your animation #1 on the default Scene Set.
2. Create a new Scene Set and make changes to your camera (Viewset) and geometry (Scene Set) and then create your part animation #2.

Part animations are unique to Scene Sets, so you can have multiple animations if you create a new Scene Set for each animation you wish to create.
