Hi all,

Just upgraded our KS6 to KS7 and we are having an issue with the Material editor tab and Rendering.

All seems to be working fine when you don't click into the project materials tab. However once you click into it your project materials that are listed at the bottom right of the screen are all blank boxes with just the names. And once you then try to render a part it pops up with a Fatal error box and has to be closed by task manager in Windows.

Attached is the error box that shows as soon as you click render with the project materials tab open as well as showing the materials boxes being blank without any visualization as to what the material is.

To note as well that this doesn't happen if you apply a material but don't open the material tab in your project.

Extra Information:
- KS6 was running fine with not issues before this. Local and network rendering.
- Computer is running Windows 7 Pro
- Model used is from CATIA V5 however problem replicates itself with Solidworks parts etc...

Can you share this scene? Please send directly to thomas@luxion.com.

Thanks!

Hi Thomas,

This was happening with any part I opened (CATIA and Solidworks) and in the default scene. I have been contacted by Niko from your customer support who has managed to reproduce the issue and has said they have forwarded it to the relevant developer to resolve.

Many thanks,

Tom

Hello, i have also experiencing the same Issue. I will be following up with this Thread for any updates!

I'm having a similar issue, but mine has to do with the Animation pane.  KS7 crashed, and even though everything was saved before the crash, it lost all my cameras for the animation, and now it shows critical errors for all of those missing cameras.  I can't seem to clear these red critical error messages, they just keep popping up even though those cameras are gone.

After the latest update I can confirm that the Issue of the blank materials tabs has been resolved. However Trying to render and parts in any material / scene / environment is met with this issue still.

I have attached a screenshot of the error as it was not allowing me to copy the text and the program needed to be closed through task manager again.

I too have been having this problem. I thought it had something to do with the plugin for SolidWorks, so I am glad to know that is not the case. I was able to get a screenshot of the log window showing the full text of the errors. Hopefully this will be resolved soon, but at least it seems like not having the Project Materials tab open is an easy workaround for the time being.
