Been looking for this, but haven't seen anything, so I'll just toss it to the forum-

Any way to work with instances inside KS? I have an assembly workstation that I am building, and the final scene will have 6-8 of these all back to back and lined up, but exactly the same. I know I can just duplicate them and place them in position in KS, and I know I can use the recently discovered pattern tool, but if any changes are made to the workstation layout or products (Which is guaranteed to happen at some point) I will have to make that change for each workstation. If there was an instance object or something, that would be awesome.

I know this is pushing KS past its original intended purpose as strictly a rendering app, but it appears that more and more people are looking to do light duty 3D work inside the app too. Would be nice to start adding some of these scene setup tools, or have the option of a live render instance running inside of a host 3D app, like, say, just off the top of my head, maybe Cinema4D :)

This might be a good test of the live linking capabilities of the plugin too. Hmmm.... Testing.....

All patterned objects are instances. When you make a change to geometry and reimport (plugin/import), all instances will update.

YESSSS!!!!! THanks Thomas, not sure why I didn't realize this, I'm off to try it now. This is the sort of scene I will be doing lots of in the next week-
