SU Model won't update (keeps old geometry)

Okay, so I am doing some material tests with a model I am rendering and have encountered a problem.  After modifying the model in SU (17.2.2555 64-bit) and then re-exporting the geometry using the Keyshot 7 Exporter plugin (7.3.14) to Keyshot (7.1.51), the model never seems to update.  I have created new Keyshot sessions and have even closed the program between exports out of SU, but the original geometry still appears.

Is there a cache somewhere within Keyshot that would be causing this?  And if so, is there a way to clear it?

I've tried several "workarounds" (i.e. - renaming the file in SU and then exporting, pasting the geometry into a new SU file and then exporting, etc.), but the geometry that was originally sent to Keyshot keeps appearing.

Any insight into what is causing this issue would be immensely helpful.  (Running Windows 10.)

So, with a little more digging, I have discovered that the issue lies with elements in the SU model that are components.  I have a "window assembly" defined as a component (with glass panes and a surrounding metal frame).  The glass panes import correctly, but the metal frames will not appear unless I first explode the component.

Is there a guide somewhere with best practices for preparing SU models for Keyshot?  Should this even be happening?

Hi, I have run into this a couple of times as well. I'm glad I'm not alone. I have no direct solution to it but maybe a workaround that might help. One of these usually works.

1. Update the component definition. You know when you select the component and in the entity info panel there is a definition field? Give the component a new name and run the plug-in again.
2. Create a new model set in Keyshot, deselect all models in the model set dialog box but keep the link materials selection (if you want to keep materials of course). Run the plug-in again. If the model comes in at a different place and/or scale. Copy the position from the previous model set and paste on the new.

Good luck.
