No idea - looks like a bug. We will look into this.

Most interesting.  I was going to post the same question this morning.  Yesterday I rendered a 6400 x 4200 image that took about 3 1/2 hours on 8 cpu's.  The "time" reading when finished was 1:3492:212445.  This is on V 2.3.1.  It used to give "normal" time elapsed.
