I noticed a difference in tesselation quality when I made the switch from Keyshot v2 to v3.  Although setting the export resolution as high as possible helped, the file sizes were becoming hard to manage and facets still appeared--albeit smaller. The image below is of the identical part at the identical "medium" resolution.  The difference with the part on the right is that during export I checked the "Normals" box--not knowing what this did.  This was a tip I received from Brian Townsend on a tech call.

File sizes are now 1/10th the size and the tesselation is completely gone.  (.obj import into Keyshot does not allow tellelation options).

Hope this helps somebody.

KeyShot

We did remove a feature, where missing normals would be computed for obj files. We will likely re-introduce this in KeyShot 3.1. Note, that KeyShot only reads the tessellated information from obj files, and most obj files only contain polygon meshes anyways, so there is no need for a tessellation parameter.
