Is this a bug in VR?

I have just started to test VR on our new company website and found the problem/bug whilst viewing on a iPad. When you try and zoom in and rotate at the same time the VR model shifts. It was very apparent as the backplate is black. I know we could probably fix this by having white backplate, but is it possible to lock the VR model in the center? You can also do this using a mouse on a PC. Hold down the scroll and left click allows you to move the VR around the screen.
