It will help a newbie some expert here, as the material steel gooseneck? Something as flexible lamp holder, not a soft hose showers,

Or tell you where to find a suitable texture? What I found is not applicable (low resolution, skewed geometry,etc...). I don't have to make their own photo.
thanks a lot for any advice

Gooseneck and other types of flex tubing really needs to be modeled as geometry, like a screw thread, for example.  Not usually successful as an applied material.

certainly, it's the best way. In any event, in my opinion art of rendering is not only brute force modeling, but in an intelligent approach to non-existent reality. I think the correct use of textures in the right place. Each 3D model is less demanding in terms of computation for simplification. No need in this case the details, but sufficient intensity ratio and the information value. This is what I had in mind. Thanks for your feedback.
good example of nice work with textures - the maxim of minimum funding, although other areas of visualization http://www.ronenbekerman.com/forums/finished-work/2468-quadrangle.html

You could do the gooseneck material IF, and only IF, your gooseneck-tube would be 100% straight .. but that's probably not what you want.  And even then you wouldn't want to take much close-up shots or it'll show.  Unless KS4 comes with displacement maps.
