Is there not a setting in Zbrush whereby you can paint the 'low points' of your model? Would be nice if you could paint on some 'dirt' into the low points, and possibly use the same image for a specular map. This might age the ring quite nicely. Though it still looks good all shiny and new.

Yes there is, you can export the UV map created in Zbrush, in fact I already did it but I didn't applied it, but I'll try it out!
