Rotation riddle

Hi guys.

I've run into a problem that I just can't get to work as I want to.
I hope you can help.

Is it possible to keep the rotation of a pivot inside a cad software when importing to KeyShot?
It's like it is getting 'reset' when imported. See the images below. The two first shows how it is in Modo and Rhino and the third shows how it looks after import. I want to keep the tilt it has in the Modo and Rhino examples.

If not possible to keep that pivot rotation, how can I make the tilted cylinder rotate around it's own local center axis? I tried to model a long thin cylinder, both to show the axis I want to rotate about and also to use it as a pivot point, but without luck.

I feel like I'm missing something obvious here, but not sure...
I owe a beer to the first guy who solves this  8)

Are you using Global or Local on the move widget?

My greatest dream is that KeyShot would maintain the mates you create in the native CAD.  It would save many, many, many hours of fiddling, especially in an animation.  Someday!

I'm using local in all of the screen shots.
When changing to global, at least in modo, it looks like the one in KeyShot.

If I change from local to global in KeyShot it doesn't seem to change anything.

We are looking into it. Works for other importers, but not Rhino.

But how should I export from Modo then to keep the rotated pivot?
Seems to react the same way as with Rhino?

Not sure. I'm not sure whether pivots and local coordinate systems are maintained through export. My first guess would be to try STEP and see what you get.
