Hi to everybody!!!
i am new to this forum and i like to share with you some my projects.
First it's an iphone (i know that everyone of us had made an iphone and it's a bit annoying, but it's the first object that i have found to measure and model)

Please make comment and help me to improve!

N.B. I would like to apologize with user SINZALOT to post my shots on his thread for mistake! sorry again!

Digging it - first shot is my favorite!

Very nice!

My only comment would be that in your model all edges are razor sharp and most components are touching. In real life there is always a minute rounding on any edge and ofter tolerance between parts in an assembly. (even apple can't manufacture to ±0 tollarance  ;))

If you can mimic this in your renders, it will take the realism to the next level, and actually KeyShot has a very neat trick to help you! If you select components in the model, Then in the project window on the Scene tab, you will find a slider called 'Radius'. Inputting a small value here will give the appearance of slightly rounded off edges on your components.

This will also help reduce the look of all the parts 'touching' but in some cases you will have to model a small gap between objects. However in the case of the iPhone these gaps will be really small, just a fraction of a millimetre.

Hey Gimmyxx,

nice work, very slick. I've never had a shot at doing a phone myself. If anything it a little too perfect, it's the imperfections for me that make things look real. That's the problem for all us 3D modellers and renderers, we don't get any dust/scratches/bumps/DOF for free, we have to put it all in. I had a chat with a photographer a few years back while he was tweaking a digital photo of his. He told me that he was trying to remove all the little dust and hair artefacts, he was also trying to remove some chromatic aberration, basically everything we 3D designers are trying to add...it's crazy.

I really look forward to seeing more of your work :)

Oh any don't worry about the accidental posting on my thread, it's all cool mate. :D

Maybe Keyshot should have a button 'sprinkle dust'  8)

Welcome to the forum. Nice work on the iPhone.

Thanks again to all,
i've tried the round edges function in keyshot but i really don't like it, it make some ghost artifact. I still prefer to modify the 3d model edges by hand and re-render.
For the scratches you are right, we try to clean a lot the model and that make it a little bit unreal, next time y try to pun some scratches or dust in the material with a soft texture and maybe a little of displacement.

After i will post a new thread with a watch where i tried some of that stuff...

You'll want to check out Andy Jones' tip for adding some specks/dust/bokeh http://keyshot.com/forum/index.php/topic,7393.msg35261.html#msg35261

and Sinzalot tells how he adds chromatic aberration here: http://keyshot.com/forum/index.php/topic,7409.msg35192.html#msg35192
