I need to render an object so that when I import into illustrator it is correct size.. So object is 43mm by 20mm .. Once in my illustrator file and printed I want to match size?  At the moment I load into Photoshop and crop to correct size...

Thanks

Rex

The only way to avoid PS is to render at 72 dpi and position your model boundary along the canvas edge. I think the best solution would be to render as a PSD with transparency, open image size dialogue and change dpi to rendered value, crop and correct.

if you're rendering perspective, it's impossible.

If not, you can use the scale tool in illustrator to scale from a specific point. Select the bottom of the objects, then stretch from the top of the object to the exact value. This way you don't have to crop, but the image ends up the correct size. This is easiest to do if you create guides to help. Create a guide at the bottom of your object first, then one at the exact height. Now when you scale it will snap.
