Hello,

I have a question about applying multiple materials to a single freeform object. I'm trying to get a silver material onto the object that I applied a metallic car paint material. The product has a logo painted onto the metallic paint in silver paint. I have the object UV'd but I can only recolor the area with a gray texture map. I don't get the shine of the silver paint. It would be really hard for me to break this mesh up cleanly for those parts but I thought I would ask if there is an easier way to do it with texture maps. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Have you tried applying the logo as a label?

I did using a grayish color but it comes out looking too flat. The sliver paint is shinny so I want that bit of realism in the render. I can fake it in post but I wanted to see if you can apply multiple materials using texture maps as masks. I haven't see anything like that online but I thought I would ask. Thanks for the suggestion.

Are you trying to apply a metal material to a decal?
Is it possible?

If so, is it possible to apply a second decal on top of the first (metal) one?

Thanks in advance,
E.C.
