Select the object (s) you want to move in the scene manager.
Right mouse button menu>Move
Move widget appears in the modelling window.
Move/scale/rotate object (s)

Not necessarily, just the ability to be able to select the parent group/part and RMB to activate Move. Sometimes when you have multiple different parts in close relationships it is very hard to select via the modelling window - you need to hide the parts to access others (especially right after importing). This would just make things a wee bit easier.

KeyShot

This has been added in 2.2. You can even select multiple objects and move them together.

At last; support for Space Mouse - hurah: :)
Hold up; it only controls the camera - doh  ???

Please, please, please; anyone who uses a Space Mouse knows what a brilliant tool it is for positioning objects in 3D space, please can KS implement Space Mouse support for the Move function?
It's what your left hand is for! ;)

We decided to only implement the camera control for now. We may look into adding support for moving objects in the future.

controlling the view by the Space Mouse is great.
For me in 2.2 however it works the wrong way around from what I'm use to in Solidworks;
I want to rotate the scene, not move the camera. Can this be changed?
can the buttons of the controller be assigned to set center point of rotation (camera pivot or focus object)

thx
