Hi there,

I am looking to render some pendant lights but would like to incorporate the ceiling rose into the image. Currently I have been rendering the lights upside down and snapping them to the ground. Is there another way to incorporate a ceiling into the studio without blocking out the studio lighting?

See images attached.

I would try modeling a ground ramp that curves all the way up as your ceiling, similar to a studio backdrop. You can then assign this piece of geometry  the "Ground" material, which will blend into your background color.

In the attached KSP file you can see the result of setting the scene up this way, which gives you soft shadows with a basic lighting environment.

Hope this helps!
