Well I am not the best at keyshot, I am more of a hobbyist.

I made a render of one my models and I am unhappy with the beam sabers it is holding, it just isnt a convincing beam effect, it looks more like plastic parts, I tried emissive material but I still need to see through it somewhat. is there something I can do to make it look more like this?

Heres the picture I rendered I had the settings on low for speed.

what you could do, is add an extra smaller (slight, experiment with it, until you like the end result) lightsaber, and place it in the existing lightsaber, give that an high value emissive, and keep the bigger lightsaber as it is right now (a translucent material)

good luck!

Did you actually change the material to translucent? That would not be the right choice for this scenario.

Keep the transparent "plastic" looking material as you have it now, then place a smaller inner part to provide the emissive effect. Also, try playing with the real-time bloom effect setting to get the parts to glow a bit.
