Render one layer at a time

Currently I'm trying out keyshot, great piece of software!

But i was wondering if it would be possible to render one layer at a time? for example, i have 100 .obj's that i imported into keyshot, the .obj's are in a list on the right side. Would it be possible to automate the process of making a layer visible, render it, make the layer invisible and repeat for the next .obj layer?

You could possibly write a script to do that. And rather than importing all 100 obj and then turning them on and off, you could write a script that import the obj, applies materials, renders it, and then discards it, imports the next one and so forth.
