So I saw that most people that use Vray and/or Corona use planes to light up the car.

Ive tried it in the past with area lights. But they lacked the option of using an opacity map to get that effect of a half Pin in HDRi's

So this time around I approached it my way. Using emissive materials and adding opacity gradients to them.

Here's the outcome and a screen shot of how it looks in keyshot.

Sweet renders!

Can someone help me understand why we don't have the option for "Mapping" Area Light Diffuse material, is it the nature of the material? I assume because it is supposed to be a built in falloff. Wondering if it's an option to allow for controlling the falloff? That'd be sweet!
