Someone posted a neon light the other day. That got me thinking how close could we get to a neon light using Keyshot.
I didn't have any neon signs but had this light. So I gave it a shot.
I really do like the results. The Red and yellow still needs some tweaking of materials But, I really like the blue one.
Just wanted to show you guys the results.
Now I'm on the hunt for a neon sign model.
Thoughts, comments are welcome as always.

As long as your looking for a challenge Tim, the Vegas casino signs are probably the ultimate.  Flamingo, Golden Nugget, Glitter Gulch...

The blue one is nigh spot-on!
Do you mind sharing the materials? Could be very useful for an infographics thing I'm thinking about.

Dries,
The secrest to lights in general is hacing a second tube running on the inside. That way you can keep the glass glass and light up the secondary tube on the inside. Once I get something I really like I'll post a KSP of it.

Josh,
While those lights would be sweet to do I'm too cheap to buy it....lol I'll find something or even try to make it myself in Maya.
Stay tuned.

You are right Tim, you always need to model as you see things in reality to get a proper render with the right material. Well, I was planning to model something, but I will wait for your free model once you're done :) Thank you in advance.....Just kiddin'

Nice idea Tim! Yeah, I've seen some pretty impressive ones. Just like you said, you need a couple of tubes, that way you can get some glass on the outside with some refraction going!
