Overall Opacity

Hi, guys!
In addition to the opacity map that defines the transparent areas, I'm wondering if we can control the overall opacity of materials (just like we do in Photoshop percentagely).

There's not a way to do it with a slider like in Photoshop, but you can add a solid color + transparency to define the opacity.

In the Library > Textures > Opacity Maps > Solid you have a set of images can be used exactly this way. They range from 00 to 90 percent visible and can limit the opacity of the entire material.

There is a way to achieve this via 'slider'. Since KeyShot 6 we can use the material graph. And the color-to-number utility node can be used for this. The output to slider defines the color black with a value of 0 and white with the value of 1. And the color black in the opacity channel means 100% transparent and vise versa.

Details can be analysed in the attached example. (The color to number node can be placed directly to the opacity channel)

but! by the way - this technique is not very comfortable or practical - but possible.
