I honestly hadn't used a texture on weight 1 and weight 2 before.
Ha, me neither :D
I normally layer different materials and use the map in the opacity channel to get this effect, but using a map on the bump weight might be handy in some situations.

There's always something elegant and attractive about efficiency.

Nice tutorial, Esben :) The Surface Backside Mask node is one of my absolute favorites; I use it quite often. So many cool things that can be done with it!

Cheers,
Eric

Great tutorial Esben as always :)
why we can see a poodle in your video ?  ;D

Because it is snowing in Denmark?
Just a guess... :)
Or maybe it is subliminal messaging to get us to buy cute snowy dogs.

Cool tutorial btw!

Haha, thank you all.

The dog (the actual one on the picture - yes, it is snowing these days in Denmark) was barking in the background and I thought it might as well get a few frames of fame. Maybe it's harder to hear than I thought? :)

Another great tutorial, Esben. Thanks for doing these.

Esben Oxholm

Thanks Chad.
No problem, I enjoy creating them :)

Here's a new one. Enjoy!

Great tutorial, Esben. I love that clock animation. I've checked some of your more organic and character type stuff on Instagram, and it's clear that you have a great animation sense. I'd be willing to bet you've studied Lasseter's "12 Principles" and probably have a copy of Disney's "The Illusion of Life" in your library  ;)

Cheers,
Eric

Thanks a lot, Eric.
You hit the jackpot! At least half of it. I have viewed a lot of videos on youtube on the 12 principles. Good stuff to know about when it comes to animation :)

Haven't checked out 'the illusion of life. Probably should.
