Hello,

I've been using Marmoset Toolbag for product concept rendering for some time and recently made the switch to Keyshot. After going over the different product tiers and based on my studio's limited software budget we settled on Keyshot HD as we didn't have the need for the vast majority of the added features of Keyshot Pro. However, as I've started using Keyshot more, I realize there is one paltry environment feature that doesn't seem to be enabled in Keyshot HD which is "Match Perspective". Is this really only a feature of Keyshot Pro or am I missing something because it's grayed out for me?

I realize now that the breakdown for Keyshot Pro does say "Perspective Matching", but Keyshot HD does say "Full Interactive Camera Controls". I would expect matching perspective to be a part of "Full" camera controls, no? Hopefully, I am just missing something, but if I'm not, please consider adding this paltry feature to Keyshot HD.

Thanks.

Correct. Perspective Matching is a feature of Pro, not HD. Because Perspective Matching is an Environment feature as it lives under the Environment tab in KeyShot. Full camera controls refers to all features under Camera tab in KeyShot if I'm not mistaken.

hmm... So what's the thinking behind having this be a pro only feature? It seems like an intuitive yet still pretty basic and necessary tool. Also, it's sort of annoying to be using software that cost so much even on the basic level and there be features grayed out. Would be very handy if tools/features like this were at least offered as plug-ins. Or switching the whole pricing model to something like a subscription, Autodesk, Adobe etc.

I'm sorry I can't offer any insights as to how the features are split up between product tiers. I can say that I honestly seldom use the perspective matching feature. Our (human) eyes are pretty good at recognizing proper perspective. The KeyShot Pro features that I couldn't live without are: Scene Sets, Viewsets, HDRI Editor, Material Graph, Real-time Region Rendering, and Animation.
