Models with multiple UV channels

Is there still no way to work with models with multiple UV channels? I have many models at my disposal that I'd love to be rendering which take advantage of symmetry to pack the normal textures more efficiently mapped on UV channel 2 while diffuse color and specular textures are mapped to UV channel 1.
