Hi,

I am trying to simulate a button being pressed in and then pivoting around a perpendicular axis.  However, after the transition has been applied, the axis in which is rotates on also seems to be moved and does not stay aligned to the hole.

See attached.  Any info would be greatly appreciated

This will require the model to be created in proper assembly structure. If the button is a sub-component or sub-assembly of the other body/shape, this should not be an issue.

You can apply a turntable to the entire model while animating the button. If they're both individual bodies or models with no parent/child relationship, you'll likely struggle with this.

This blog post gets into the specifics of dynamic pivots. https://blog.keyshot.com/animating-hinges-with-multiple-pivot-points-keyshot

i have same problem too.  https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=20435.0

i can rotate complicated models such as the link but, this model seems like a piece of piss.  But it's a very big problem for me.  Please check my post and look at the model and KS file.

hi, Dries solved my problem which it was the same exactly like yours.  please look at attachment, i tried to animate something like yours.  just click axis orientation to original local for every step of animation.

arpykeyshooter, I do believe that the fix in the thread Öner linked to will solve your case as well.

In general, when asking help for this sort of animation issues, it would be very helpful if you could provide a simple scene/model. Model hierarchy and structure is important for the behavior of model/part animations.
