Is a 1080p 27" monitor suitable for rendering (or need higher res)?

QuoteThe 25" Dell  that I ended up with was the same price as others, a pretty good bang for the buck at about $260.

Which model Dell was that?

Dell U2515HX

I was slightly off in my resolution, its 2560x1440. Still, a good resolution for the size. If I went 4k I would probably try to score a 27".

Price went up since I got it, I know IT paid less than $270 for it.

Anybody out there have experience with this BenQ?

This one was on my list that I sent to IT, their response was "We don't want to purchase anything from a small unknown brand/company"

*sigh*

But I will say the Dell that they got me is working fine for now. Loads better than the $80  business monitors I was using.

BenQ, a smaller/unknown company?!? lol, sure, my mom isn't familiar with the brand, but that sounds like an odd rationalization.

Welcome to my corporate world.  This from the same people that just dropped $9k on an HP Z8 32C64T machine for our render node at the drop of a hat, but was grumping about spending $300 on a color accurate monitor that would affect the images that the customers see.

There is no rationalization in corporate IT depts, I'm finding out.
