Guys do you model this shape ( imperfections) or you use simulators like Ncloth? I am using Maya but cant get this imperfections on shape right

Will Gibbons

Personally, I would model this. It's going to be very hard to get a convincing appearance of a bag just using bump maps. You can use a procedural noise texture in KeyShot that is scaled up very large to create the impression of waviness, but it won't look like your example I'm afraid.

Good question!
I am need a model of packing too!
I am use maya too! ))
And I show you what result I got.
But I must do better.
Please help with model,
and help me with material for packing this kind.
Anybody already had such cases, maybe?

jackynikola

I tried modeling it but I am still not getting a good result. I tried like you with Ncloth but it looks like cloth, not like a plastic bag. I trayed Photometrics. But the problem is his material is changing if you touch it just a bit. So it is almost impossible to do it.

oh )
I am Just sculpted ))
Ncloth doth help me! ))
Hm )) Maybe it is possible, But need good sculpt skill, and many time )

Will Gibbons

I would sculpt it. Doesn't seem that difficult. I've done some sculpting in Blender and MODO. I'd think Maya has some good tools for that.
