Glass colour confusion

A quick question..
I allocated a 'solid yellow' glass' material to a ground plane - why does it look red?

I believe it has to do with two factors.

1. Transparency distance. The lower you set this the darker and more saturated the material will get.
2. Plane thickness. If it's a single plane... you should just use basic glass material and set your color. The solid glass needs thickness to work accurately.
