I would assume yes at some point, they aren't back into the office until next week, they had a training session for a couple days with the XRITE TEC scanner, which was pretty cool to see in operation. I think they will be making the videos public as well.  Here's the bullets they talked about-

-VR Realtime 90fps with dynamic head tracking
- Geometry shaders(displacement, embedded flakes)
- Tone Mapping/Image Styles
-Cutaway materials
-Spotlights
-Scattering media material (smoke, dust)
-Liquid Interface material/media interfaces
-multi-layer optics (dichroic glass, oakly-esque lens coatings)
-Configurator 2.0 and Colorway support

Ah cool, thanks. No interest in VR, but displacement, spotlights and the new materials sound amazing. Hope the update cost isn't too punishing!

Don't take my word for it, but I don't believe there are plans to change the pricing model from what it is currently, so buying the 8 should be the same as if you bought 7, right now. Maintenance pricing and upgrade pricing should also reflect the same as current. Again, I don't work for Luxion, but I do believe they mentioned not raising the price for over 8 years or something at the event.
