Hi Everyone!

I just started saving out turntable animations and am figuring out how to get things to look clean.

Here are a couple turntables of my concepts. I'll keep adding more as I make them.

Thanks for viewing and any tips are appreciated!

Hi Everyone!

I'm having a blast rendering these turntables out. Still fine tuning all my quality settings to avoid ticking, artifacts and blinking, but it's coming along.

This is a 2K turntable of a Mech Samurai helmet, inspired a little bit by storm troopers.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

These are both awesome, Mauricio, but that second one...wow! superb. Beautiful material and lighting work. Those blinking mechanisms on the face plate are great!

Cheers,
Eric

I was thinking the same thing, those filter cartridge flickering thing is actually pretty neat, if it was intended. Even if its not intended the results is pretty cool.

It was a happy accident and I felt the same way!  Haha, but I need to be able to control this stuff when delivering artwork to clients. Translucency and lights applied to different parts are still a bit rough, but I'm trying to figure out the sweet spot on the render quality settings still.

Thanks for commenting mattjgerard!

Thank you bdesign! Those sparkly lights on the gas mask bulb things were completely just render artifacts as my render settings were too low. I lucked out that they were cool looking, but it was an accident. haha

Illang: The Wolf Brigade (2018) - Original Suit Concept

I got to create a mock up of the original 1999 Jin Roh film's armor suit of the elite Kerberos Panzer Cops, which were a metropolitan anti-terror unit. I've been a big fan of the original Jin Roh anime, and it was a huge honor to get to work on this South Korean adaptation directed by Kim Jee-woon with Alliance Studios! Special thanks to Eddie Yang & Steve Wang for bringing me on and leading the design team.

You can see images of the final concept here:

The second one (AKA Pilot Bust) with the glass fronted helmet is the best one, I think  :)
I would say that they need a bit of dirt and grunge.

Mauricio Ruiz Design

Thank you!

Yea, I add the dirt and grunge in the final 2D images in photoshop, as that's usually the fastest approach, although battle damage like bullet holes and deep scratches would be warranted in 3D for my design process.

Here's the final image for it:

I designed the eyes on the mask, basically the cheekbones and up. (Not the Helmet.)
