Where does Keyshot save temp images for video renderings?
« on: November 28, 2018, 07:34:17 am »
I started a render but only selected video. I need to stop and start over but I don't want to lose what i have rendered. Where does keyshot save the temp images that are to be used for creating the video? i want to go there save them.  I will make sure next time to do a image sequence.

Are you on Mac or Windows? If Mac, the files are in a hidden "private" folder. I my case that folder was here:
/var/folders/r6/gvd70lm156979x4yj00h0mq00000gp/T/temp_ks_frames_1543429250899

That location may or may not be the same for you. I would guess probably not. In order to find out what the path is on your machine, attempt to render the same animation again and you should get a warning that says:

Frames already exist in /var/folders/r6/gvd70lm156979x4yj00h0mq00000gp/T/temp_ks_frames_1543429250899.
Do you want to continue to overwrite them?

Again, that directory may be different on your machine. (If there's another way to reveal that path structure other than seeing it in the warning dialogue, I don't know what it is.)

To access the files now that you know where they are, go to the drop down menu in your Finder and select "Go" then "Go to Folder....". In the dialog box that pops up, type /var and click the Go button. This will create a Finder window to the var directory. You should be able to track the frames down from there by following the path from the warning message.

If you are on Windows, someone else will have to give you an answer.
