Hello guys. I've tried building a styrofoam/expanded polystyrene material using two images of different distance for references.
I'd love to hear your opinions on it. The close-up reference image bugs me because it seems to suggest I should invert the bump map. Which is counter-intuitive for me as I've seen EPS a million times in my life and remember the bubbles being ones that are bumped outwards, not the little veins. I also added a smooth transition on the edge so it looks honed, and that's the part I'm quite satisfied with.

Looks pretty good! Only thing I'd say is maybe add a little bit of sheen as I remember this material is somewhat glossy and maybe try using a displacement material for even more realism, otherwise looks great!

True, it is more glossy now that I look at reference photos.
Thanks for your opinion.

Looks to me like the photo shows a cellular texture that leaves depressions in the styrofoam. Maybe you want to use a negative value for the bump height?
