Thanks again everyone, (to Ryans last note) I do agree that there are downsides to both methods but it only took me 5min to liquified the shapes is PS afterwards. Additionally if I want larger droplets to simulate gravity where they are larger bulb like at the bottom of the drop I have to liquify them anyway which is why in most cases I use the particles emitter in blender. It all depends on what your needs are, if you don't need a ton of control over the appearance/shape than displacements are quick and work fine.

So good. Such a good effort with all the walk through stuff too! Really helps out the community! Cant wait to try some of these techniques!
