Hi Everyone,

Recently upgraded from a Ryzen 1800x to the new 3950x and boy it's an improvement! The 1800x was great just didn't quite pack the power I needed for the animations I wanted to start creating using some advanced materials, the 3950x though smashes it!

Overclocked slightly to 4.3ghz and got 440fps, definitely have more room to overclock but the thermals were running a bit high for my liking so will be looking to get a new cooler in the future.

Cheers,

Sam

Hi Sam, Just like to know how is going with your choice of cpu after close to 2 months. My choice was a 3700X because of budget constraints and it can still multitask between IRONCAD, KeyShot, Windows Mail and Firefox all together without the fear of blowing it up or overheating  all day. I agree that the 3950X is a good choice for smaller operations or individual designer. It will good to hear your experience about this time. regards joseph

Hello @beaneydesign,

I'm considering the same CPU. Can I ask you which GPU did you chose for your build? Are you happy with the CPU so far?

Thanks.

Hi

Just upgraded to a 3950X from 2700x, decent performance increase (from 1.6x on the benchmark for CPU). I'll load up the camera scene and see how many fps I get too.

32Gb DDR4 Corsair Vengance LPX at 3Ghz
