white shadow instead of black shadow
« on: August 11, 2021, 03:31:22 am »
Dear all,
render with transparency a white shadow comes out!
If a client of mine wanted to put a similar render on a graphic, isn't the shadow black?
How can I do? suggestions?

then I would like to eliminate the halo of shadow that continues beyond the image?
does the hdri center and therefore I have to change the lighting methodology?

Thank you all for your cooperation

When rendering in transparency, the background is removed and with no ground reflection, the shadow will appear 'whiter' than it does in KeyShot.

To remove shadowing, there are a few things you can.
First, in the Lighting window, under Environment Lighting remove Ground Illumination and Self Shadows.
In the Light Manager, you can rotate the lighting so that it no longer reflects directly on the model in a way that casts a shadow.
Another thing you can do is in the HDRI Editor, add a pin to create a new light source directly over the model.

That should do it.
Let us know if that worked for you.

And use a 50% grey background Color instead of white when rendering with alpha channel enabled. In post, you can use a white background again.

If you render out the clown mask with the image you can easily select everything around your model, mask it and then invert it in Photoshop. That way, you can still keep your shadows if needed.
