Using real-time render mode .. on the Quality tab you can chose #of frames or time in seconds.
I have not used #of frames yet.
How can you correctly estimate the quality result of the frames ?  How much to set and how much time it'll take ?

Wouldn't it be usefull to have number of frames shown in the head up display ?  So that if we let it sit for a while we can se how much frames were rendered ?

And wouldn't it be usefull to have a graph or percentage shown during rendering which shows how much difference there is between the last rendered frame and the one that came before ?

The # of frames, or samples in KS 3 needed for a rendering are determined by trying various settings to see what delivers the best results. Larger renderings need less samples though. So if you determine that 32 samples gives you a good result on a small image, try and cut the samples in half when your final image is twice the size or larger.
