When I import certain solidworks models I find it really hard to control the model view. Some models I can move around fine but others just seem all over the place, ie. you'll zoom in a little and the whole model will shoot off in a totally different direction! Does this sound familiar to anyone? I can open most similar models fine but every now and then I will get one of these. (I can control them fine in solidworks) If this is a bit vague I

I am not sure what you mean. Are you using the SpaceNavigator?

I'm trying both ways. Using the mouse and also using the 'move object' tool by right clicking on the object. It's like the model is orientated wrong (but it's not) and it just won't move around as freely as it should. I can open similar models without any problem at all and in solidworks the model moves fine.

I'll try to upload the file today sometime.

With my second question do you think it's possible to upload files from solidworks into keyshot keeping the same view as solidworks? As I'm rendering a lot of very similar items I'm wanting to keep them the same view, I always set them to Dimetric in solidworks, it would be brilliant if I could open them up and keep that view. At the moment I need to open up a previous file which I'm happy with and then open the file I want to render (it keeps the same view)

Thanks

We currently don't import the views from SW, but are looking into this. You can set up the view in your KeyShot file, and then import your SW into this scene. Does this help?

Thanks for the help and good to hear you're looking into that. It would be a massive help for me!

That's what I currently do to get over the problem, it works ok.
