updating material changes

So I have created some materials for my scene, given them a name and saved them in a new folder.

I now change the materials and want to update them in my saved folder, I dont want to create Floor #2 and floor #3 I want to update Floor so it is saved for the next time I open a similar scene..

How do I do this?

Right now you will need to save them in the folder, delete the original one, and then rename the new material.
