Hi all,

I have a little problem, the object reflects the backplate picture. It reflects the backplate as if the backplate is an object in front of my "real" object.

It a glass sphere (2-sided)

If it's not clear, I'll upload a picture.

The material is glass, 2-sided.
the environment is a standard dark studio hdr...

The image is not reflecting, you see it refracting through the glass.

yes, well I thought that that the backplate shoudn't have effect on the model at all.
How am I going to render a "marble" (It's just an example), if the material reacts to the backplate as if it's a picture in front of it?

The backplate doesn't have an effect. It is the material. First of all, make sure that the aspect ratio of realtime window matches the aspect ratio of the backplate. This will eliminate the black area.

ok, that looked much better. thanks!

(ps, is it realistic how it reflects the background?)

It looks like, your Backplate is a "spherical hdr(i).

It is a backplate. A spherical image applied as a backplate. And - once again, it is not "reflected". This is what you see when looking through glass with a certain IOR.

it's indeed a hdr pano as a backplate. I had to choose a backplate fast...
