hello , i find this model in grabcad
http://grabcad.com/library/4-cyl-boxer-engine#
the file extension is stl , i import it to rhino 5 but i can't modify the model
i add little details using original photos of the model and i separate parts with layers
http://home.no/wrightmodel/4-cyl.html
i test animation but i think i can t make it because the render take days with my laptop...i will try

Seghier

i used other method i imported the solidworks extension of the model and it appear as polysurfaces , rhino and solidworks use nurbs for modeling
i add smooth edges and i modify he propeller

Seghier

Seghier

thank you Paul
if you have any critical about propeller and materials tell me

Philrider7

Nice material on the propeller, but stl is only polygons and cant be modified in Rhino like a step or iges file would. Next time look for step file!

Seghier

thank you Philrider7
yes you are right but now i use solidworks format and it's imported as polysurfaces and blocks and i can modify them because solidworks and rhino use nurbs for modeling

The propeller material is sweet.

Seghier

Hello Tim, thank you :)
plz can you explain this word : I would take the green out of your dome IMHO
i don t speak good english

feher

How your engine is lit, It looks like you have alot of green in the Dome. I would open up the Keyshot HDRI editer and desaturate the dome a little bit.

Seghier

ok i understand thank you Tim, i desaturate it :)
