Having a preview of what the .bip file contains before needing to open it would be nice.

The is already present in the current version 3.x 
When you are in your Windows Explorer hit Alt+P to toggle Preview Pane on and off.
On Mac, you just hit space in the File Finder to preview (QuickLook).
