Maybe I should mail to support team, but just want to share my experiences:

1. An included sample scene file, "translucent.bip" can't be opened.
Trying to open this bip file causes KeyShot4 crash every time...

2. Several old bip file can't be opened correctly with KeyShot4.
KeyShot4 open the file without error message but loses all geometry!
Attached bip file, "test_101103_01.bip" has just one plate.
KeyShot2.3 and 3.3 can open it correctly, but KeyShot4 shows nothing as attached screenshot.

3. Stereoscopic viewing issue 1: After exiting KeyShot4, 3D Vision is still working.
Tested system: Quadro FX3700 with 311.15 driver + 3D Vision 2 + BenQ XL2420T
In nVIDIA generic 3D Vision photo viewer's case,
3D mode indicator lamps(on IR emitter and LCD display) are turned off automatically after exiting viewer.

4. Stereoscopic viewing issue 2: metallic painted surface loses(or get weakened) 3D effect!?
Not only metallic paint but also rough surface may looks having same behavior...
I attached a simple bip file, "test_130218_01.bip" which has a cube painted in metallic color.
Top bright surface looks as located on same plane/depth at LCD display, I feel.
My eyes are wrong!?...
...but anyway, stereoscopic viewing is interesting, indeed...thanks to KeyShooters!! :)

Can you attach the proper file? The one you attached contains a cube and opens just fine.

As far as the crash goes - we will investigate.

I am also getting the same problems, I was just about to post another thread but figured I would just add to this one.

Keyshot 4 won't open many of my old .bip scenes, saying its out of memory and may cause instabilities.  But they open just fine in Keyshot 3.3

Also, HDR Light studio plugin disappeared in Keyshot 4- every time I've updated Keyshot in the past its always been there, what do I have to do to make Keyshot 4 see it?

Keyshot 4 is also crashing a lot with NEW .bip scenes I create- trying to add a hdri, a backplate, or even just changing cameras...

I also had the experience of saving a .bip and re-opened it to find all my geometry had been deleted.

:/

Please contact support@luxion.com. We have gone through extensive BETA testing and have not come across any of these issues.

What version of the OS are your running? Windows XP 32bit?

em3d

win 7 64 bit.

I will email support@luxion and attach a specific .bip

Hello Thomas,

Try the first attached file, "test_101103_01.bip", please!

/* The second one "test_130218_01.bip" has no problem for opening... */
/* It's just an example about stereoscopic viewing... */

Ah - ok missed the first one.

Ok - reproduced, and bug filed!

Keyshot4 always crashes on the 'translucent' heart scene if you use the 'File' - 'Open' method but if you navigate to the scene in Win Explorer and double-click on it it opens no problem.
However, if you save it (even with a different name) it still crashes.

This will be fixed in the next update.
