when duplicates a set of elements, those are embedded in the same sets.

This is very annoying.

For example, if you want to create a set of variants with different and differently located in space materials.

ideally:

1 - select the selected elements.

2 - duplicate

result:

3 - duplicate elements are assembled in the same newly created array.

4 - or, to manually move these new elements and create a new set.

---
5- or the possibility to create groups.

I agree with you. I think to start with duplicates should always be placed into a new group outside the model.
